MULTITASKING. DOESN'T. WORK
Think you’re good at multitasking? I’m sorry to say… you’re probably not.
Decades of scientific research have shown that it is basically impossible to focus on multiple complex tasks at the same time. What we’re actually doing is task-switching – rapidly flipping our attention between tasks. Not only is this process exhausting, but it often leads to things taking longer, and with worse results.
So what should we do instead if we want to be more productive and healthy? Could the answer be monotasking?
