Virtual reality has been around for nearly a century but has never truly taken off. Now, with tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, HTC and Meta investing billions into advanced headsets, could that be about to change?

Today’s VR devices are 100,000 times more powerful than the clunky gear from the 90s, offering breathtaking, photo-realistic experiences and the ability to blend virtual worlds with reality (AKA "Mixed Reality").
